If so we can change themes anytime we wish free of charge here and it’s very easy to do > Appearance Themes
You can use the search utility and Feature Filters in your Dashboard > Appearance > Browse Themes > Feature Filters to locate themes of interest to you. (A-Z, Popular, Features)

Each theme has a thumbshot and a features summary description. You can browse and when you find one of interest you can click “Preview”. When you are ready to make your selection you can click “Activate”.

@myfold, are you talking about this blog, , which is attached to your username? If so, then you are already on 3.0 wordpress. Staff made that upgrade here several weeks ago. Staff takes care of all upgrades and such, all you have to do is blog.

As far as customizing a theme here, we have access to the CSS (via the paid CSS upgrade) and although CSS is not rocket science, it does require some understanding of how it relates to the markup (XHTML). If you have no experience with it, go to the CSS forums page here and look at the links at the top of that forum in the yellow section for some tutorials and such.

This is probably the best description I’ve seen about CSS, from an old wordpress.COM blogger, and master at CSS and such:

    atthe404 on CSS:

There is no trick. But doing CSS requires an understanding of the markup (xhtml). There is no way round that. The CSS applies styles to stuff. To what stuff depends on the markup. So number one read the source (View Source). Get used to it. Feel comfortable with it. Two. Understand what the heck selectors actually are. Different cats of selectors behave in different ways. SO: this is counter intuitive. To understand the CSS do not start in CSS. Start in the xhtml. Then see how they relate. Its all there. :)
There are gazillions of CSS tutorials on line.
