Changed 'html' formats by wordpress …
As of today – Australian 11th Oct 2012 10:07 am – ‘copying a post’ results in the html format of existing post being reformated – I lose all background setings, ‘table’ and ‘td’ width settings and the format of the layout is all wrong as a result.
I posted yesterday and everything was as normal – can you give me some explanation of why things have altered.
I am unable to retreive the format of all the existing posts because the ‘copy a post’ function does not reflect what is already on-screen in the format designed.

Blog url: http://bleyzie.wordpress.com/
The blog I need help with is bleyzie.wordpress.com.
I’m sorry for the hassle, and I’ll be happy to take a look.
Can you reply with the post title that you’re using with the Copy a Post feature?
Also, what’s the URL of the post that is displaying differently?
For both questions the link is posted below –
Other post performing the same way are posted below:
In fact it is the same for all previous posts – I even tried it on different computers as Windows 7 and Vista did major upgrades overnight …
The same result on both computers ….
regards … Ian Bleys
Thanks for your reply. I’m sorry for my misstated question, and I’d like to restate my question. :-)
Can you let me know the original post that you’re using with Copy a Post for future posts?
i.e. For “The Misogynist v Misandrist debate – there is no winner and Society loses”, which post did you copy from?
I tried several original post in the ‘copy a post’ style new post – all had original ‘html’ formats indicative of the ‘Author’ format – all of the ‘copy a post’ new posts lost that ‘original’ format i.e. table witdh, background colours, positioning etc …
This has stopped at least three new posts for being posted and I need to fix this soon – if I know what the problem is than I know what I have to deal with –
All existing posts have their formats intact in a visual sense – whe3n you try to edit any old posts – once again some of the ‘html’ format is lost …
It’s a problem with WordPress – something changed and it has impacted on my ability to post in the formats I have been posting in …
Please advise hastely if possible…
Hi Bryan –
Another issue – when I view the ‘source code’ of an older post and copy the body of that post into a ‘new post’ in the ‘text format – the copy function copies the text across as I want it – when I then switch to ‘visual mode’ – the formats change –
The problem is in the WordPress updsate for this theme thtanow negates html formating pertaining to certain elements …
Please fix this …
Thanks for the additional details. I’d definitely like to try and reproduce it, so I’d like to copy the content of the original post where the formatting of the table is correct.
Can you reply with the URL to that post so I can test things out?
Hi Bryan – I sent you the URL inthe first message as a link …
Surely you registered this – it’s been three days on these overnight responses and I still am unable to post …
If the URL is the only thing you need to follow up trhis problem I don’t believe the effort on your side is all that interested in fixing my problem.
What is causing the problem?
Why do I have to wait 10-12 hours for responses?
Surely I have given you enough info for you to just open the WordPress account and for you to look at the ‘copy a posdt’ and ‘new post’ function …
Regatds Ian (becoming extremelt frustrated)
Again this morning I tried to add the ‘width’, ‘background’ elements into teh ‘table’ and ‘td’ html format and when i went from ‘text’ to ‘visual’ those elements were edited out of the ‘table’ setup.
This is a theme restriction that was not there previously and I need for you to get into this to tell me why it happened.
It’s not just happened on this ‘bleyzie’ wordpress account but also on the other accounts I have. i.e. http://www.fcata.wordpress.com
You should be able to give some advice on whether the INove theme has had its template altered or not or some other alteration …
Hi Ian, I’m sorry for the frustration. I wanted to make sure I was trying to reproduce the exact same thing you were seeing, and the many times I’ve read your replies, it didn’t make sense that the original post with the correct formatting could be the same one that’s affected.
I viewed the first post URL you gave (not your blog home page) by clicking the View Post link on the Edit Post screen, and it looks correct.
But, when viewing the text editor on the Edit Post screen, it’s displaying it without the table formatting (and other things you mentioned), which I verified comparing it to the HTML source of the already published post.
So, for that post, I’ve pulled up the post revision that matches up with the published post HTML (with the background color and other elements):
(You can click the Restore link for the matching date, if you’d like. Before you do that, on the Add New Post screen, switch to the HTML editor, start a draft, then click Save Draft. The reason for this is because the Edit Post screen will display the last editor you viewed.)
You can also see the differences here:
In conclusion, it does look like something is up when switching between the visual and text editors, so I’ll pass along your notes to our developers to see what’s going on, and I’ll reply back to this thread with updates.
Thanks Bryan – but how does that help me now – am I to wait all weekend …
It would seem that all you have be able to advise is that you agree that something has altered in the way the ‘html’ format I use is altered by the theme template somehow when I try to edia a previous post or copy a post for a template for a new post …
This means what exactly …
We’re looking into this, but I’m afraid there isn’t much I can do at the moment as this change is in the core software. It looks like they’re interested in moving towards CSS as the HTML values are obsolete.
To note, this doesn’t have anything to do with the theme template, but rather the visual editor in your dashboard.
So, my best suggestion is to copy the HTML from the revision where the elements are okay, and to use the text editor for modifying the content in the meantime.
when i make the changes in the text editor and then switch to the visual – the changes are altered back and have no impact …
I’ve tried everything – from the source code, from typing in the code aknew, from new post using the source code from an old post picked up fron the firefox visual…
Nothing works in allowing me to enter the ‘width’, ‘background’, or other layout formats in the ‘<table>’ of <td> brackets.
It will allow me to make the changes but when saving a post or switching back to ‘visual’ the required formats disappear.
So this is a major restructure of the coding formats that I was not warned about …
If it is as you say a want to go to css formating – surely there would have been some warning … I don’t think that is it …
What confuses also is that old posts appear as they have been posted – these changes only happen in attempts at new posts or copy a post …
Any ideas on that …
Hi Bryan – I looked at the HTML values are obsolete link and tried to include the html within the ‘style’ function and it seemed to solve the format issues.
Notwithstanding – WordPress should have given some warning and/or advice that the ‘html’ formats were being altered to reflect the upgrades … the linked page is some 2 years old and the formats I have been using have been obsolete all that time …
Thanks for the comment – but it was the link on ‘obsolete values’ that tweaked and you should have know andgave me focus on that problem from the outset.
Appreciate the efforts … Ian.
To recap, the current functionality (when switching from text to visual editor) is removing the obsolete attributes, and we’re looking into it right now.
In the meantime, if you’re looking to edit a post that you’ve already published, you can switch to the text editor, view the post revisions for that post, then restore the most recent version which didn’t remove the attributes.
Once you have that post saved with the attributes correctly, you can try the Copy a Post feature with that post with Text editor selected.
(Of course, if you’re using the accepted style function, you should be good from this point on. I’d suggest setting one post up as your “template”, saving it as a draft, then using that for future posts.)
Note that you should stick with the the text editor for these types of posts.
I’m sorry for the hassle!
The issue with some older code attributes being striped from “table” tags when using the Visual Editor should now be fixed. Please let me know if you’re still experiencing any issues.
The ‘width’ code seems to be fixed but the ‘bground’ attribute does not … all teh background’s have turned to white [default] … all new posts have the new code containd in teh ‘style’ but when I want to edit olded posts – the editor deletes the ‘bground’ format …
Please let me know when you fix the ‘bground’ code …
Hi there – would you mind sending me a link to a post that does not display the background colour you want? There is no “bground” attribute that I know of so I’d like to check the code you’re using. Thanks.
Code pasted from the editor …

Julia Gillard employs no fewer than 1,600 media advisers. (Spin doctors). The cost? $150,000,000 pa. There are more, but Ministers like Albanese won’t disclose details. It appears much more of our taxes needs to be spent on spin doctors if our chief spinster Gillard’s involvement in massive union corruption is to remain undetected.
I would like to take you on a little trip to the WA Goldfields… to Kalgoorlie’s twin city, Boulder.
WA newspaper archives show Bruce Wilson travelled to Boulder/Kalgoorlie in 1992 to attempt to allay union members’ concerns about his (Wilson’s) decision to transfer the management of large sums of union members’ money to a new AWU account in Northbridge, Perth.
The money resided at the time in a separate account called, “The Goldfields Fatal Accident and Death Fund”. This money, donated from union members themselves, was to financially assist bereaved families of deceased union members.
Wilson wanted management the account shifted to the AWU’s head office in Perth. Wilson was the then WA boss of the AWU. He and Ralph Blewitt were to be sole signatories on the account and union members were justifiably apprehensive.
They were wary of Wilson’s alleged fraudulent activities and demanded a meeting. It was set down for 8pm in the Boulder Town Hall.
Wilson knew he would never convince members of the legitimacy of the proposed move himself. So he introduced to the stage a person of high legal authority to assure union members there was no need for concern.
The person he introduced was Julia Gillard. Members were unaware Gillard was his lover. She was presented as an important Industrial Lawyer from Victoria and an official representative of the Labor stalwart law firm, Slater & Gordon.
Gillard addressed union members at length explaining why the money should be moved and that there was nothing to worry about. She insisted the members were in the good hands of Slater & Gordon and their best interests would at all times be protected.
Gillard must have done an excellent job because the account containing approximately $1 million was shifted to a private Northbridge, Perth account. The address for all correspondence was nominated as Northbridge Post Office, Box 253.
Three years later, police were asked by incoming AWU State Secretary, Tim Daly, to investigate one amount of $145,000 withdrawn from “The Goldfields Fatal Accident and Death Fund” to buy two holiday units in Kalbarri.
[I should say at this point that Ralph Blewitt never questioned what Wilson wanted. He simply signed whatever he was asked to. He was to sign fraudulent documents Gillard had drawn up for Wilson in the name of Workplace Reform Association Inc. Blewitt was also totally unaware of a mortgage, arranged in his name by Slater & Gordon, over another house Wilson bought from stolen AWU funds in Kerr Street, Fitzroy. Wilson, according to police files, used a stamp of Blewitt’s signature whenever he needed it.]
Despite the WA Major Fraud Squad’s Detective David McAlpine’s keenness to lay charges, it didn’t happen. The Kalbarri holiday units, were subsequently sold. Again the laundered money vanished. It was only the tip of a very large iceberg.
Wilson was also negotiating a “Workplace Reform Agreement” with Thiess at their Dawesville (Mandurah) site. He had invoiced Thiess himself for 220 hours worked per month, every month, at a rate of $36.00 per hour. But did not on any occasion even visit the site.
Thiess raised cheques on each of Wilson’s invoices. Each cheque was deposited in, and promptly withdrawn from, the sham Northbridge account. This is commonly known as a “secret commission”. It is highly illegal.
Thiess didn’t seem to care that Wilson was never seen.
Although the WA Police wanted Blewitt and Wilson charged they could not convince Thiess to co-operate.
From FOI material we have recently received from the WA Major Fraud Squad, it is clear that Thiess WA was reluctant to press charges of any kind. Thiess insisted they believed they were paying a branch of the AWU. Their reluctance to press charges may have been due to not wanting to rock the AWU boat, acquiescence in the deal or the interesting relationship between Wilson and Thiess’ CEO, Joe Trio; Trio is Wilson’s brother-in-law.
Another seven cheques totalling $112,000 found their way into the Northbridge, Perth account curiously from Melbourne Water, a Statutory Vic. Government Authority.
Now, you might ask, why the hell would a Victorian Government QUANGO be paying a Perth-based union for any damn thing?
The connection is this: Gillard was, and still is, a very close friend of a Robyn Mcleod. McCleod was Gillard’s house-mate and she bought half of Gillard’s Abbottsford property.
Remember, Wilson was joint boss of WA and Vic AWU for this period and was drawing two wages and guess who Wilson engaged to negotiate the Melbourne Water contract?
Yep, the $300,000 pa, SA Rann Govt Water Commissioner, Robyn Mcleod. The plot thickens by the minute and we nut-jobs are supposed to stop asking questions?
The question that must be asked, and will soon be answered, is how could Gillard have been Wilson’s lover for over four years and not know what was going on? He carried a wad of notes that would choke a horse and was purchasing multiple properties for cash with extorted funds.
Gillard admits she was involved and indeed complicit in the fraud, but now claims she didn’t know what Wilson’s intentions were. Mmmm, didn’t know? Really? Convincing workers in Boulder to part with their hard-earned funeral savings to buy holiday units and she didn’t know? Where did she think the mouth of this river of money’s source was?
To say she didn’t know beggars belief. Either she is a simpleton (which she is not) or she is treating us as simpletons. The latest photo depicts her as definitely not blonde and she was an industrial lawyer and partner in the most notorious law firm in the land. She didn’t know what she, or he, was doing?
When Gillard acrimoniously broke-up with Wilson, she was more familiar with his scams than poor Blewitt. So, why didn’t she go to the police? After all, they were champing on the bit waiting to charge him. All they needed was some corroborative evidence. Could it be that she and others would be found guilty of aiding and abetting?
So, why are police never successful in prosecuting union fraud cases? Simply because union bosses and developers refuse to cooperate. They will neither supply nor give evidence to enable a successful prosecution for fear of retribution or incrimination.
The glacial HSU East branch investigation by the union-dominated FWA is testimony to the futility of expecting delinquent crooks to investigate delinquent crooks.
FWA Commissioner Ian Cambridge, when an AWU Boss, called for a Royal Commission into his union! He has since been silenced by Gillard appointing him as a judge to the Federal Court. Now he can’t discuss the matter.
[Update 27th Aug: Please note – Pickering published a correction on this highlighted point – it reads – ‘Gillard appointed AWU Boss Cambridge as Commissioner to FWA. He now refuses to comment on his call for a Royal Commission. Apologies.’].
We ‘nut-job, sexist misogynists’ are really not supposed to ask these questions? Not one has been answered.
As I have said repeatedly, Abbott refuses to be involved. I can’t blame him. But the only Honourable Member left in the Labor Party, Former Attorney General Rob McClelland, will not rest until these matters are resolved. Gillard sacked him.
Criminal elements, like small fish Craig Thomson, (who had Gillard’s “full confidence” until the bitter end) are deeply embedded in the ALP. They are protected by the ALP and their court costs are covered by the ALP via the unions. HSU’s Williamson has ripped $20 million from lowly paid workers.
The money these mobsters embezzle from innocent workers is tax exempt. It’s like taking prize candy from a kid and there are no penalties when caught.
It is the Labor system, it is the culture and it has become enmeshed in the sophisticated involvement of Left wing Law Firms like Slater & Gordon and Maurice Blackburn who have made an art form of ripping off needy claimants.
Abbott refrains from demanding an immediate Royal Commission because Gillard and her Union mobsters must never be allowed to set narrow terms of reference. My information is that Abbott will move on the unions as soon as he gains Office. His will be a Royal Commission with the widest possible terms of reference.
The main protector from union prosecution is Bill Shorten, another product of a Left wing law firm. He has successfully shut down the HSU investigation by sequestrating the union and is currently busy trying to bury the AWU/Gillard/Wilson investigation.
Isolated cases eh? Try keeping a lid on this one, Billy boy… we have much more on you.
Gillard’s ‘misogynist, sexist, nutjob’s’ comment and generalisation about her critics is far from the mark. She said that last Thursday’s questions will be the last time she answers questions on this matter – do you want to bet …
The week ahead will reveal if the ALP aligned press gallery will finally take up the challenge and do their job. Hedley Thomas took them to task with his report in the Weekend Australian – story linked here –
The ABC’s Insiders this morning was as lame as a three-legged race horse … Barry Cassidy and the rest of the panel guests should hang their heads in shame …
There is talk that the Courier Mail’s Dennis Atkins made the same mistake as Glen Milne in one of his story’s during the week – Milne was sacked for saying the same thing – if Gillard does not seek to have Atkins sacked – there will be more questions about the double standards.
Shane Dowling’s – “The Kangaroo Court of Australia” – also produced a story about Gillard’s guilt and how a two-year jail term is possible – see story here …
Andrew Bolt’s Blog – linked here – is also feeding updates all the time.
If Gillard thought this was over – well her army of ‘1600 media advisors’ had better thing again.

but the code above does not … in the new posts I have included the ‘background’ code into the ‘style’ format whereas previously – I used the – bgcolor=”palegreen” … sorry – just realised I was talking about ‘bground’ when the attribute is
