What the hell? You guys have changed everything, even on how to contact anyone or leave feedback. Now I have to hunt to find a way to make a new post and view my previous posts. Not to mention, where did my dashboard go? This is not one of your better tinkerings. Please put back the dropdown menu and make it easy again.

The blog I need help with is colleenanderson.wordpress.com.

    where did my dashboard go?

http://colleenanderson.wordpress.com/wp-admin is where you l;of-in and logging in results in being on your own blog’s dashboard.

Now I have to hunt to find a way to make a new post and view my previous posts.

Please help! I saw this thread and need to speak with someone who knows what they’re talking about. timethief you seem to know a bit. I suddenly cannot access the correct admin login page for my blog. I have a premium blog but cannot even email support without being logged in which I cannot do. I have tried going through bluehost and typing the address in directly: mylifecubby.me/wp-admin and I keep getting a “server error” message. I can’t even login to my dashboard. Have any idea why this is happening?

This support forum is only for free hosted WordPress.com blogs. The site linked to above is not a free hosted WordPress.com blog and you are posting to the wrong support forum.

WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and if that’s the site you need help with then this is the correct forum for your software http://wordpress.ORG/support/ If you have not registered a WordPress.org username account yet you can do so on the top right hand corner of the page I just linked to so you can post to those support forums.

Like Coleen, I am a bit disappointed with these changes as well. Why have they been made? The dropdown menu was so handy and it`s not as nice looking either.

    #1097098

Though that dropdown menu seems to appear from this help page which is wierd.

I, too, am not a fan of the changes. I liked the statistics summary that is now gone or hidden. Add media is more cumbersome and no longer tells me the amount of space I have remaining. I have considered moving to a self hosted blog and these changes may cause me to make the move.

I wonder why some of the functions have been removed from the ‘Add New Post’ page? I like to have my blog post outlined nicely, with no unnecessary indents at the end of lines.
Is there a chance that this function will return?

The changes certainly take some getting used to, however, my biggest disappointment is that I am having difficulty figuring out how to use the slideshow. Has that been removed? It was such a great way to display a lot of pics at once.

Will you please create your own thread so we can help you with your specific issues in it. Simply click this link first https://en.forums.wordpress.com/?new=1 then post the URL starting with http:// for the blog in question and clearly state exactly what you need assistance with.

This is really bad. The changes are awful. Where is the 30 day summary now? Do you check these changes before you introduce them? There are so many errors I have to assume not.

    What a great response:
“No changes are going to be reverted”

It’s fine to have a bunch of links listed but that doesn’t help me when I sign in. When I log in, I cannot find the dashboard that lists themes, posts, etc. I can hit new post, sure. But I often have some in the works and want to go back to my list.

Other changes in the past have made sense, made accessibility easier. This one falls into the realm of annoying Facebook changes. If it takes me longer to hunt, it certainly isn’t intuitive.

Where is the 30 day summary now?

That is answered is another thread > https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/summary-tables-for-stats?replies=46

The link is gone from the bar graph to summary tables but ally can be reached at: https://wordpress.com/#!/my-stats/?view=table

? Do you check these changes before you introduce them?

I am a Volunteer. It’s my understanding that Staff do test WordPress core software changes before they are implemented at WordPress.com and then are made available to WordPress.org users.

Oh, and why is it even harder to contact WordPress. I had to really really hunt for a place to post. What happened to “Feedback?”

No, they don’t test anything. They make changes and then wait for users to identify problems. I am supportive of improvements but too often changes improve nothing and worse still – are a backward step.
