I have a WordPress.com site – acidfastclub.wordpress.com, which maps to a ‘.co.uk’ domain (http://acidfastclub.co.uk/). I have now bought the ‘.uk’ version (through a different hoster), and I want to:
– change to ‘.uk’ as my main domain, and
– redirect from the ‘.co.uk’ domain to the ‘.uk’ domain.
Can you let me know if this is straightforward (it feels it should be…), and if so, how I should do it?
If you want your .co.uk to point to acidfastclub.uk, then you can keep that domain mapping and just add a new domain mapping upgrade for acidfastclub.uk. You can add this exactly like how you added the first one. Please contact the registrar of acidfastclub.uk and have them change the nameservers to us:
Then add another domain mapping upgrade for acidfastclub.uk.
Once they are pointed to us, go to Store > My Domains and set acidfastclub.uk as the Primary Domain. This will make sure that both: acidfastclub.wordpress.com and acidfastclub.co.uk will point to acidfastclub.uk.
