I see the new theme, MistyLake, allows for a larger header than MistyLook. Are there other changes besides MistyLook no longer being supported? If I change to MistyLake, must I redo my CSS customization? It’s been forever since I’ve touched the CSS and the thought of having to redo it is giving me fits!
Yes, Misty Lake has various differences.
Yes, CSS is theme specific.
“No longer being supported” isn’t correct: MistyLook has become “retired”. Retired means no longer available in newly created blogs, but still available in blogs created before the introduction of Misty Lake. So you don’t have to change theme. They might remove MistyLook eventually, but I don’t think this will be anytime soon, as MistyLook had always been one of the most popular themes (we don’t have stats for it anymore, but a year ago there were more than 500,000 blogs using it).
By the way, the header search box hides your rightmost menu item: you should go to Appearance > Theme Options and remove it. If you need a search box, you can add the Search widget to the sidebar.
Thank you so much for your response and for taking the time to point out the overlap with the search bar. I’m so glad I asked here before changing over to MistyLake. I suppose some day I will need to make the switch, but for now its still working fine for me.
