Changing layout of themes…

I’m using a theme that has tabs at the top for the different pages. I’d like to change the name of the one labeled “home” but I don’t know where to do this. I’d also like each of the links in those tabs to point to categories instead of pages. Can I do this with CSS edits?

the tabs are links to pages, which are posts that sit outside of the chronology of posts. if you want links to point to categories and the posts in that category, just insert the categories widget into your sidebar. when you click on a category it will show all the posts under that category.

i believe it’s possible to change the name of the ‘home’ tab through css upgrade though i’m not 100% sure. alternatively, there are themes that do not use the word ‘home’ at the main page, one namely the cutline theme.
