How do I change the permalinks of my blog posts so they only have the title and not the date it was posted on?
The blog I need help with is baumhofer.com.
We cannot edit permalinks on free hosted WordPress.com blogs.
If you are creating all your posts on the front page of WordPress.com at this link http://wordpress.com/#!/post/ then you are creating asides – not standard posts.
and select the “standard” post format and then click update
You can Bulk Edit your posts from the Edit Posts Screen and select the “standard” post format and then click “update”
If you create your posts here on your own blog’s Dashboard > Posts > Add New at this link http://baumhofer.com/wp-admin/post-new.php then you can select the “standard” post format in the far right hand column and this will not be an issue.
Thanks for the quick response. I create posts from my dashboard but I’m afraid I don’t see where I select “standard” on the right hand side…
Doe the images here help? http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-formats/
Thanks, I guess my theme doesn’t support different types of posts so I’ll just have to live with the obnoxious dates!
You are correct. Oxygen does not support any Post Formats, which is why you don’t see options for them when you create/edit a post. I assume that means you can’t bulk edit either and if so then that sucks bigtime. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/post-format-type-switching-from-standard-to-image?replies=13#post-1079418
I tagged this thread for a Staff response. Will you please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond?
Yes and thank you!
You’re welcome and I am following this thread and awaiting a Staff response as well, because if you cannot bulk delete that will mean that there will be thread after thread of peeved off bloggers in the same position you are in. So if that’s the case then, we Volunteers will pass the popcorn and let Staff pick up all such threads.
