Changing “Primary” Blog

    Is there a way to change the primary blog associated with my login? I’ve got two and created the first to see how this place worked with a secondary blog, then moved my primary blog here second. But the second blog is the one links get added to when I use the “Add to Blogroll” link in the menubar on each wordpress.com page. I’d like it to go to the other blog.

    Any ideas?

    The first blog you create is your primary blog. If you delete it then your second one would become your primary blog. But I can’t think of another way to acheive this so I’m hoping someone else will be able to come up with something.

    Agreed. Not deleting a blog would be the preferred method.

    I suggest that you bump this up to drmike in the morning. If you are not available to do that then I’m making a note of it and I will do this for you. g’night.

    It’s come up a few times in the past and there’s no current method. A while back, hte blue bar along the top only pointed back to the main blog, and then they added in the drop down menus for just the blog listings while the “New Post” link went only back to the main blog. I think the new drop down menus we recently got is sort of a work around for the time being.

    Now, there are two things you can change that will affect some settings. You can edit your URL here in the forums under the View Your Profile -> Edit link at the top of this page. You can also edit your profile on any of your blog backend and edit your link there at Dashboard -> Users -> Your Profile -> Website. That will change the link underneith your name when you do sych things as make comments and the like. (Did for mine)

    That’s probably as close as we’re going to get for your request currently.

    Hey, I just noticed that under My Account, in the Edit Profile option, there is now a drop down box that allows you to choose your primary blog!

    And thanks to WordPress for listening and acting so quickly. It’s always nice to see a company respond with action as well as forum posts and comments. :)

    Just noticed that the check box for the personal editor got moved to the top of the page as well.
