Changing domain name

I would like to change the name of my main standard domain. I don’t intend to purchase an effective sub-domain, rather change the one I already have and keep the after the name. How can I perform such change?

    Thanks in advance,

The blog I need help with is

In order to map to a domain one must have an underlying subdomain blog to map from. If you have registered a blog you log in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog and purchase a domain name by purchasing an annually renewable domain mapping upgrade for the blog.

See here if you do not own a domain

See here for mapping an existing domain that you already own

See here for mapping a sub-domain (for a domain with an existing website) to your blog

Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades is where you do the primary blog set up knowing it can take between 24 – 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. You can view the DNS changes here > What’s important during that stage is to be patient.

Thank you for your reply, timethief.

What I actually mean is: how can I change the name of the free account I already have?

    Thanks again,

    Hello there,

If you want to change the blog address ie. the URL starting with http:// then you must be logged in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog to do that and the URL you desire must be available. If so then you can change the URL by using this guide

    Thank you again, timethief.

You have helped me solve the question.

Hooray! I love happy endings. :)
