    Dear Gurus please be gentle with me, I am finding all this computer language pretty confusing, not to mention the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org ?

    I am about to launch a website (Currently not public) which is a wordpress.com site, it uses a Chateau Theme and I would like to remove the Date from the front page, I’ve tried scouring posts and tried a few things but nothing seems to work. Will I have to change my theme to achieve this and if so will I have to reformat the whole site. If you need to see the site I’d like to invite you by email (So I don’t put a half finished website public) PLEASE HELP?

    The blog I need help with is iandwakefield.wordpress.com.

    We do not provide support by email or by phone. Staff provide support for the custom design upgrade and they have backend access to blogs so they don’t have to “work in the dark”, so to speak. It sounds like it is a CSS editing issue to me so I’m flagging this thread for moving to the CSS Forum where you can get help.

    If you have taken out a CSS Customization Subscription (yearly $30) then this code might just do the trick:

    p.postDate {
    display: none;
    }

    The code is an adaptation of other codes I have posted here that works perfectly well on other themes.

    Please note: Customization package is required to enable you to insert this code.

    Thanks yes this code works fine, I’d also recommend to others withg similar problems use of Firebug an addon for Firefox. This allowed me to identify the code and remove it as suggested.

    I am using the same theme and am trying to remove the date from all posts, not just the front page. Is there another code that anyone can suggest. I have a .com website that is not public and have the CSS Customization subscription.

    Thank you in advance for any help!

    To hide the date on individual posts on the Chateau theme, you could do this:

    .post-title .post-date {
        display: none;
    }

    There is still spacing left behind for it though, and the edit link and tags list would still be there. You could remove all of the extra post data from the left side with this CSS:

    .post-title .post-date,
    .post-extras {
        display: none;
    }

    .post-entry {
        width: 97%;
    }

    .post-title h1,
    .post-title .post-info,
    #nav-below,
    #comments #respond {
        padding-left: 0;
    }

    Adjust the padding and width values as necessary.
