Clicking blog link creates a download
When I click on my blog at http://first50.wordpress.com something downloads. When I click to read a comment, something downloads. When I’m in the admin area and click to View Site, something downloads. Following this download, the browser displays a blank page.
I’m getting the same thing when I try to go to http://www.wordpress.com or your blog in Safari 2.0.3. When I go to my blog (http://homejournal.wordpress.com/), I get an unstyled page (and no posts). I’m guessing this is all part of the same server trauma that’s causing most of us to have temporarily lost all/many of our posts.
Probably. Would help if we knew what this “something” being downloaded was. At least a file name. :)
It says 0 bites, and creates an icon on the desktop that looks like a Windows prompt with a computer next to it. This is an unusual icon on my desktop, since I’m using a Mac. I have been afraid to do anything with these downloaded bits except trash them.
In addition, my entire set of posts and pages have now disappeared!
And the name of the file would be?
It probably has something to do with this thread. I would just wait to see if the issue gets fixed shortly.
Sorry, I should have given you the filename before. It is the URL. So the file is called http://first50.wordpress.com. If you click a specific post or comment, you get the specific URL for that post or comment.
Note sure what was happening but it does appear that it’s working fine now with IE 6.0.2900.2180.
Usually when this happens, it’s an issue with the webserver not being probably setup correctly. (Apache help sites are filled with these. :) )
Can you confirm that it’s still occuring and what browser you are using?
