.com 'Home page' is coming up as yesterday's blog
This might be a very stupid question, but I’m relatively new to this, but why is my .com domain coming up as yesterday’s blog post, wrong image, and therefore crap SEO? And how and where do I set this page up as static as my .com (domain) ‘home page’?
The blog I need help with is urbangardenguerilla.com.
This is your home page http://urbangardenguerilla.com/ and I’m not clear on what your issue is. If you are concerned about SEO then you won’t be setting a static front page. Search engines find blogs with frequently posted content on the front page to be zillions of times more attractive than sites with static front pages are.
By default the front page of your blog displays all posts (not pages) in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top. If you do not want all the posts to show on the front page, then you can create a static front page called for example “Welcome” for your site and a “Blog” page for posts.
To do that create two pages > http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/ After you do that you go to > Settings > Reading and make the designation change and click “save changes”.
Front page displays
__ Your latest posts
A static page (select below)
This dispels the SEO myths that abound http://dailypost.wordpress.com/2013/04/11/seo-and-your-blog/
And this contains what you need to know about SEO on WordPress.com:
I actually managed to figure this out in the interim, from a info page, but now I have it in writing in my email, it will be saved!
Maybe you know how I can change the pic that is coming up on the archives page (a widget)?
