I’m very confused about what a comment follower is, and how its possible to have them when noone has posted a comment. This happened on a post of 1 of my blogs that I don’t allow comments, and the other blog has 1 comment follower each for two different posts yet there are no comments for either. Whats the deal?

We can’t help you here at WordPress.com with the site linked to your username is not a free hosted WordPress.com blog, and they are the only ones we provide support for on this forum. You must post to the correct forum for your software http://wordpress.org/support/
Please link that free hosted WordPress.com blog to your WordPress.com username. Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to Account Details. Then scroll down to where it says ‘Website‘ select the URL for your primary wordpress.com blog and then save changes.
If you believe your blog has some technical issue then that means you need Staff help. May I suggest you make sure your commet settings are set up the way you want them to be http://en.support.wordpress.com/following-comments/ before you contact Staff om Monday?
Support will be closed over the weekend. We will reopen by 8am Pacific Time on Monday, March 12th. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
I’m also having this same problem. I had a comment follower on day 1 but I’m pretty sure no-one else had even seen the blog at that point. Now I have a follower on 3 different posts. When I go to look at ‘comment subscribers’, all I can see is which post and how many followers – how do I find out who they are?
Blog owners can see how many people are following comments on their posts from the Site Stats page: http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/#totals-followers-shares
Your site stats page displays how many followers you have, who your followers are, as well as how many people are subscribed to post comments on your site.
On that page scroll down to “Totals, Followers & Shares”
Then click the links.
Site followers: __active followers
Comment followers: __ followers, __ following
I’ve done that but not seeing who is following, just a number but I don’t think it’s right. This is what I get: http://imgur.com/a/ehjyv
Click the blue comment followers link please.
Oops! I’m sorry I didn’t scroll down far enough on your image. You will have to contact Staff.
Okay thanks, will do.
It’s possible someone is signing up to follow a comment thread, but their comment is either going to moderation or to your spam filter… so: no comment, but a comment follower.
