  I would like to make a comment on a blog I follow that would be linked back to my self-hosted wordpress site. But their form allows google, blogger, typepade, open id, and then wordpress, however the wordpress username looks like this:

  http:// (username). wordpress.com

  How does my blog username on my self hosted site translate onto this? There must be a way to make comments under my blog name…

  The blog you specified at wildoakstream.com does not appear to be hosted at WordPress.com.

  As you might have guessed from the support bot’s awkwardly condescending auto-reply, WordPress.com doesn’t recognize self hosted WordPress sites at all on its own.

  If you install the Jetpack plugin on your self hosted site and connect it to a WordPress.com account, your self hosted site should be listed under “My Blogs” in your WordPress.com account ( http://wordpress.com/#!/my-blogs/ ).

  Then you can go into your account settings ( https://wordpress.com/?ssl=forced#!/settings/account/ ) and select it as your “Primary Blog”.

  Then when you go to comment, login with your WordPress.com username, and it will link to your self hosted site!

  WordPress.com doesn’t recognize self hosted WordPress sites at all on its own.

  LOL:D and the same can be said in reverse self hosted WordPress.org sites do not recognize WordPress.com sites
