Comments but no traffic
I am receiving a lot of comments on my website but I am getting no traffic in my stats on the dashboard. How is this possible? Is anyone else having this problem?
The blog I need help with is orangeowlmedia.co.uk.
Re: stats, likes and shares
Our stats are not real time stats. The data is cached and takes hours to update. See here for more on stats > http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/
Do be aware the likes and shares are not pages view stats. Likes and shares are misleading when you are talking about page view stats. Your followers and anyone with a WordPress.com blog who is logged into WordPress.com can “like” and “share” your posts in several locations such as in email and the Reader without ever clicking into your blog and creating a page view stat.
You can control the length of the entry sent out on your RSS feed here > Settings > Reading and choose the “summary” setting for your RSS feed or the “full text”. If you set it to summary then visitors have to click into the blog to read the full post.
People are reading my posts and making comments. I’ve had 176 in the last 24 hrs. and I only had 2 views yesterday. Something is definitely wrong.
People can comment right form the Reader without ever entering the blog and creating a page view stat. That said, I tagged this thread for a Staff follow-up. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.
Your 176 comments are mostly spam comments left by automated bots which never even visited the blog.
Take note at how they’re all vaguely positive with no real reference to details in the post, how some include links to porn or get-rich-quick sites, and how some commenter names aren’t really names at all, like “just click the up coming website” and “medical tourism companies in usa”.
