concerns about moving website to another host

  1. i have created a new website on to replace my current one hosted my another party. i need to make sure that i don't lose my google ranking when i move the to my current domain. best option? 1. my host installs wordpress on his server. 2. my host points my domain to my wordpress URL. 3. have wordpress redirect to my domain. ?

The blog I need help with is

  2. an equally important concern is how my email might be affected, which is hosted through my domain.

  3. You will lose pagerank whenever you change the URL of a blog. Generally the effect lasts about 4 months. In my experience (seconded by others) the SEO of an independently hosted blog vs a blog is such that you never quite get back to the status you were at before. You will have to do aggressive connection-building to ensure you recover as quickly as possible from the double whammy of changing your URL and changing your hosting.

  4. So if my content is now on the URL directed from my URL, which URL is used for ranking?

The URL has no rank yet. My URL is ranked Okay.
