Connection Reseted / Lost

    Many people are having problems in access my page due to constant problems of connection resetd. I’ve experienced this a lot.
    From 10 times i try to access my page, 6 i got Connection Reset during page load messages.
    I’ve lost very long posts i wrote due to this.

    I want to know why this happen so much and if there’s something i can do about that.

    I have flagged this thread for Staff attention re: the server connection reset issue.

    You may be able to recover an earlier Post Revision. Go to Posts > All Posts, hover over the title of the post, click Edit and check the Post Revisions module for previous saved versions of the post. If you’re not seeing the Revisions module while on the editor screen, click Screen Options (top right corner of your Admin page) to activate it. Then select the post and page modules to include them. Then you ought to be able to go here > Dashboard > All Posts > Posts and locate the post and recover it from post revisions.

    When you start a new post, add the title, set it to private and then publish it. When you are done with the post, set it back to publish and update it. The problem with posts disappearing when saved as a draft has been around for a while, but only seems to hit a small number of people randomly.

    The other choice is to get and use an offline blog client such as Windows Live Writer (Windows) or Ecto (Mac) and then everything is saved on your computer and when you are done with the post, you actually publish it directly from the blog client software.


    timethief, thanks for the tips, i will do this so i don’t lose any other post.
    Lately i’m doing all the text part on a text editor and then posting and formating on the blog editor.

    By any chance, is your ISP Talk Talk, or a satellite internet provider?


    macmanx i use cable adsl. this happen only on some blogs (not all of them)

    This happens at random then i have to wait from 10-20 minutes to try again.
    Also this don’t happens at the same time with all blogs.
    I can have my blog and “blog A” working and “blog B” not working, and later, “blog B” and “A” working and my blog not working.



    That is rather odd. Do you have any luck if you either enable or disable HTTPS? (the opposite of whatever it is now for you)


    The problem isn’t with the admin pages, but with the blogs itself. The blog doen’t open even if i’m not loged in.



    Hm, I’m not seeing that myself. Any luck if you reset your modem and/or router?


    I had this problem even on another peoples PC, and it’s not only me, many people says that they’re unable to access my page randomly and have to wait about 10-20 minutes to access again.

    That’s why i think the problem is with my page, not with my connection.



    Are the other folks using the same ISP?

    When you see the problem next, would you please take a full screenshot and upload it via Media -> Add New in your blog’s Dashboard?


    Yes, most people are even from other countries.
    And the page simply don’t load, and after some time the browser return a “Conection reseted during page load” message

    basically, when i try to open the page, it tries to load for some minutes, and the browser return this message.
    And as i said this happens with many users that tries to access the page, even people from various different contries



    Hm, that’s not on our end. I wonder if your ISP or network connection is giving up prematurely.

    I would be a lot easier if I could reproduce the error myself, but your blog is loading just fine for me here, and on my mobile.

    Any luck if you reset your modem and/or router?


    It’s happens every day, and as i said it’s random, and last for few minutes, but is very frequent and annoying, so waiting or reseting the modem makes no difference at all. and even if i do, i wont be able to know if it was the reset that solved the issue

    The main problem to map this issue is the randomness: yesterday i had this problem only once for less than 5 minutes on the whole day, today for about 2 hours, it was like “5 minutes on 5 minutes off”



    Alright, I’ll keep trying throughout the day tomorrow and see if I run into it too.



    Also, could you ask the other affected visitors to get in touch here? Perhaps there is something similar between you folks after all.

    I haven’t seen the problem yet, but I’ll keep trying.

    Any luck convincing the others who see this to post here?
