I added a contact form page to my blog ( by adding a new page with just a [contact-form] in the body. The form appears fine on the page but when I tried sending a test message from it (logging out from, I do not get the message in my email. I tried sending a few more messages but no luck. I entered a valid name, email id and URL for all the messages just to make sure they wasn’t getting rejected as spam. Am I doing something wrong?

The blog I need help with is

Have you checked if it actually did end up in spam?

I checked the Spam folder of my email and it’s not there. Nor is it in the spam comments that Akismet catches. Any clues?

Check under settings > general, the email address listed there is the one that the contact form email will go to. Is that the email address you have been checking?

Did you ever manage to sort this out. I’m have the same problem and it is driving me mad. Tried using the SMTP plug in as well still no luck. All the forms I seem to use just do not work…:-(

@luxulyan, the fact that you talk about a plugin means your blog is a self-hosted wordpress blog using the software from wordpress.ORG are supported at http://wordpress.ORG/support/ .

This is the forum for people hosted here on the wordpress.COM free hosting service and things here work differently and our answers typically will not work for you.

If you do not know the difference, see this sticky thread from the top of the forums: .

Thanks, cannot find any any answers there. Just strange, contact form/email doesn’t work.

Search the forums for “email contact form” or something like that. Also if you are using a plugin for the contact form, check the plugin author’s website. Sometimes they have an FAQ or support page with answers to common problems.

Search the wordpress.ORG forums I should have said.

should the CONTACT–INFO-EMAIL(required) be your wordpress blog address or your email address? There was something in the 9 things you should post of 2 years ago that states you should put your blog addrss there. I am confused?

I misquoted the article in my previous post. It is called “8 Things To Know Before Posting in WordPress.Com Forums”

If you are entering your information into a contact page to contact someone, the contact info email has to be your email address.

The 8 things… is talking about linking your username to your blog URL by entering your blog URL under the “website” field under users > your profile. It has nothing to do with a contact form/page.
