From what program are you copying the text with formatting?
If you are copying from MS Word, you’ll want to read this support guide to learn how to cleanly paste it into the Editor: https://en.support.wordpress.com/microsoft-word/
Have you tried using the new-ish Google docs extension for WordPress? https://en.blog.wordpress.com/2017/03/07/introducing-wordpress-com-for-google-docs-a-new-way-forward-for-collaborative-editing/
Let us know if you have more questions about that.
In Microsoft Edge, I copied text from any existing post, such as https://lcchong.wordpress.com/2017/04/07/heim-updates-7-apr-2017/. Then I paste to the editor. Not from Microsoft Word and others.
However, IE11 has no issue.
Version of Microsoft Edge: 40.15063.0.0
Are you copying the text directly from the browser:
Or from the post editor:
And do you paste the text into Visual tab on the editor?

This problem happens in the latest Edge, but not IE11 and Chrome. I think something wrong with Edge.
I have a similar problem trying to cut and paste a Word document into WordPress using Edge. It worked last week and I think that installing the Windows 10 Creators Edition has caused the problem. I used Chrome to cut and paste my document with no problem. I hope that Edge gets fixed.
Thanks for the link to your video, it was very useful :)
I’d recommend pasting the text into the editor using the ‘Paste as text’ button:
Or paste the text into Notepad and copy it from there to remove existing formatting.
I think the problem is with Edge rather than WordPress.com but I’ll do some further testing to make sure.
Just wanted to drop in and let you know I have reported this issue:
We will check to make sure there are no issues with the editor itself :)
