I’m using Chaotic Soul theme, and want (desperately) to move my copyright from the widgets bar to the footer. Trouble is, I don’t see how I can manipulate the footer. I can’t figure out plugins, or I’d be using the copyright plug in. Pulling my hair out. Please help!

The blog I need help with is hautehouse.wordpress.com.

May we have a URL beginning with http to the blog in question?

If you are using plugins, sorry, you are in the wrong forum and need to head over to http://wordpress.ORG/support/ as that is where self-hosted wordpress blogs using the software from wordpress.ORG are supported.

These forums are for those hosted here on the wordpress.COM free hosting service and things here work differently and our answers typically will not work for you.

If you do not know the difference, see this support document: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ .

    No sir. I’m wordpress.com.

    http://www.hautehouse.wordpress.com to be exact.

So no plugins for me! But does anyone know how to insert the copyright on the footer without them?

I think you would need to use a Theme that has a Widget ready footer area. I think Twenty Ten does, I am sure there are others.

The other ugly solution is to have a stock line that you paste in the bottom of each Post.

Ack. I was afriad you’d say that. Well, if anyone else has an idea.. shoot ’em at me. Until then, I’ll just keep the copyright in the margin.

    What’s a Stock line?

Just a line of text or whatever that you store somewhere on your site that you use on a regular basis (I keep mine in a Draft Post) that I then just cut and past the line or lines into the Post – less typing –

Just another way of saying cut and past from a template document.
