Counter in blog statistics widget for

  1. For the existing blog widget that is available for, if one uses this widget on blog now after a blog has been created and searched/seen by visitors, will the statistics counter only log in number of hits from installation date or will the statistics counter be set backwards to when the blog was first launched on the public Internet?

The blog I need help with is

  2. I just put one up on my blog to see what it would provide and the answer is that it records all hits since the creation of the blog. Holy guacamole! onecoolsite has had 469,166 hits

  3. Wow, that's incredible Time Thief. This is good to know.

  4. Hello Sandra,
Thanks. I'm also impressed. lol :D
I'm wondering is this applies to the widget display as well as to the dashboard stats:
    The following are not counted:

    * Visits from registered users of the blog when they are logged in.
    * Visits to uploaded documents and files
    * Visits from browsers that do not execute javascript or load images.
    * GoogleBot and other search engine spiders.

  5. Wonderful for the blogger ego, timethief. :)

I understand the risk may be the blog statistics widget data might be fed /redirected/used by someone else to pump up their blog hit totals?

  6. Nah ... where did you get that idea? Our blogs aren't monetized. We make no pay per click income, advertising income, or affiliate income so all the hits amount to is bragging right.

  7. TT, I saw the number of hits you have, and all I can say is WOW! congratulations.
I can only dream of such numbers. All the best to you!

  8. maidiebike, as far as I'm aware that's not possible. Or necessary; if you want to cheat on your hit counter there are thousands of easier ways to do it.

  9. Thx for the feedback!
