Created New Page, link comes up Page not Found

  1. Good day,

    I have a site hosted on WordPress.com, at https://sjgardiner.wordpress.com/

I created a new page today to have linked in my header, under the title "The Liberty Village Line". I can see and edit the post in my dashboard, and the link in the header shows up, but when i click the link i get the "Oops! That page can’t be found." message and a search box, not the page itself.

The permalink for the page should be: https://sjgardiner.wordpress.com/the-liberty-village-line/

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

    Stephen

The blog I need help with is sjgardiner.wordpress.com.

  2. Yes, I see that https://sjgardiner.wordpress.com/the-liberty-village-line/ is broken. Are you sure the link is right?

You can open the page on your editor and see if the slug is set right.

I am also tagging the post with "modlook" for the WordPress.com staff's attention. They should have access to your site and can confirm this.

  3. Hi Stephen, I've not seen an issue like this before. I can confirm that even if I click the link directly from the edit screen, it does not display.

Would you mind if we test a few things on this side? I'd like to try copying the page, the completely deleting the current one, then re-using the link. Would that be okay?

  4. Hi Supernovia,

I'm not sure if you did anything setting wise in your checking, but it appears to be working now that i am home from the office. In addition, some other things that didn't use to work like the search or the "Blog Categories" link now seem to be working. I'll admit, i'm fully confused by that, but thank you for looking into it!

    Cheers

    Stephen

  5. Hi @sjgardiner, I'd stepped out for a bit, but I had asked my colleagues about this as well. While I was gone, one of them recognized a very old issue and was able to fix it for you (site wide) :) You should be good to go now.

  6. Awesome, thank you so much to the entire team for resolving the issue so fast!

    Cheers

    Stephen
