    looking to creating an orphan page which is only accessible through a direct link to it. is this possible?

    With the theme you are using, you would have to make it a child of another page.

    With themes here that support custom menus, you can simply make a custom menu and then not put that page in the menu.

    If you were using a theme without top navigation, you could either exclude the page from the pages widget, or use the custom menu widget and not include the page in the custom menu.

    awesome – thanks @thesacredpath. that was just what i needed! the theme does support the custom menu widget.
