customer service phone number
how do I speak to a real person?
The blog I need help with is claressacredtreasures.wordpress.com.
We aren’t zombies. Please simply state what you need help with rather than insulting us as there is no phone support here.
There is no phone support nor is any required, as bloggers are writers and publishers, who are fully capable of communicating in written form. This is a peer support forum where Volunteers and Staff work cooperatively to deliver WordPress.com support. Volunteers answer most questions and Staff monitor. When Volunteers cannot provide the required support we flag threads for Staff attention.
I’m not sure why you are feeling so offended. I asked a simple question and would appreciate a nice reply. How would I possibly know that WordPress doesn’t offer customer service for those people wanting to build/or upgrade a website?
I am in need of upgrading a free WordPress site (2 actually) but I don’t know what I need to upgrade to. I simply need direction and clarification so I can purchase the correct product.
Thank you for any help you can provide me…
I’m hear and I’m willing to help so let’s start over and leave thye twilight zone behind.
For upgrades see here http://en.support.wordpress.com/category/upgrades/ and click through the links to read the extensive and detailed support documentation for each individual upgrade.
Choosing to restructure blog as a static website does not require any upgrades. A WordPress blog can either be structured as a page based website or its conventional post based blog structure can be retained. That’s why understanding the differences between posts and pages, comprehending the SEO implications of creating a page based structure, and knowing how to use custom menus are key to decision making when selecting a theme, and setting up your WordPress.com blog. http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/05/12/better-blogging-at-wordpress-com-pages-and-posts/

On one hand, none of the characteristic “blog” features like categories, tags, authors, dates, etc. can be removed from a free hosted WordPress.com blog without purchasing an annually renewable custom design upgrade and doing the required CSS editing.
On that other hand, one can edit a WordPress.org theme free of charge. That’s why I suggested you read this comparison > WordPress.com and WordPress.org: The Differences http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
***headessk*** “hear was meant to be “here” of course
I’m visually challenged and didn’t catch that error before clicking.
OK… let me read through all of this…
I didn’t know there was a difference in .org and .com WordPress sites…ugh…
I have no problem with purchasing the upgrade so I can customize the templates better (or my graphic designer).
I’m a little overwhelmed. I thought since I currently have a Domain name, I had to upgrade to get it converted? I’m not a programmer type so this is greek to me. Sorry. I appreciate your help.
BTW… can we move this conversation over to MY wordpress blog…so my client doens’t have to forward me all of these emails? (email redacted) (my blog ConnectTheeDots)
Thanks…I’m off to read now… :)
Here are some of the questions I am trying to get answered:
My client wants to upload video (so do I need certain plug-ins or the upgrade for this?)
I’m having challenges with adding “images” from the gallery into the image widget for the right hand columns. The photos are not appearing.
I’m sorry but we don’t provide support on the blog. We provide it here. This thread is tagged for Staff assistance.
What is the web address of the blog you are looking for help with? Is it http://claressacredtreasures.wordpress.com/ or something else?
We can help with questions regarding blogs on WordPress.com (like claressacredtreasures.wordpress.com).
However, if you blog is a self-hosted installation of WordPress, support staff at WordPress.com do not have access to your site’s files or the ability to provide support for your current issue.
If you need professional help for your self-hosted WordPress site, please check out http://jobs.wordpress.net/
Hi…and thank you…
Yes, the http://www.Claressacredtreasures.wordpress.com (a client’s site) PLUS my own site at http://www.connecttheedots.wordpress.com . Both of these are on wordpress.com, not wordpress.org (neither are self-hosted).
I am TRYING to gather the correct information so I can make the write choice as to what it is I need to UPGRADE these sites to.
I do not want to self-host…but I do want the capability to create pages, add a video library, add a Pay Pal shopping cart along with SEO/keywords. Is this possible with an upgraded package on WordPress.com?
I am ready to upgrade both sites today if I can get help on the details… I’ve read the Product info for upgrades but it is still vague and doesn’t really answer my concerns.
I appreciate your help,
I am thinking about setting up a blog with WP and wanted to know if the fee for the template is a one-time fee, or something that you have to pay each year to maintain your blog?
I do want the capability to create pages
You can publish both blog posts and pages on WordPress.com: Post vs. Page
add a video library
We offer the VideoPress upgrade that allows you to upload video files directly to your WordPress.com site. Alternatively, you can upload videos elsewhere (e.g. YouTube) and embed them here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/videos/
add a Pay Pal shopping cart
While you can sell your work on your blog, no blogger initiated advertising, retailing, or reselling of work created or services provided by other people is allowed on WordPress.com.
This link will give you instructions for using a Paypal button on your blog:
And you can also add a contact form: https://en.support.wordpress.com/contact-form/
WordPress.com handles SEO optimization for you. Your site has a sitemap: http://claressacredtreasures.wordpress.com/sitemap.xml
And we also have a global topics system that search engines get their information from:
You won’t be able to directly modify the page template to insert keywords, however.
Something to keep in mind is that you can always start creating your content on WordPress.com and once you are ready to move to a self-hosted installation, you can export your content: https://en.support.wordpress.com/export/
And you can log out of the claressacredtreasures account and post under your connecttheedots account if you wish to receive notifications directly. To avoid confusion, you might want to start a new forum thread (or threads, if you have multiple questions you are looking to find answers for): http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
@jabadi: sounds like you are referring to themes? We have both free and premium themes on WordPress.com. When you purchase a premium theme, it is available for the lifetime of that blog.
See for more information: http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/premium-themes/
And if you have further questions, please create a new request here to avoid confusion, thanks in advance: http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
Better if you start new threads instead of adding on to old ones.
