How about engaging in some genuine Customer Service by providing bloggers with an opportunity to comment upon change before it happens.
How about placing a bulletin board, as part of the dashboard, which solely provides information about a change before even working on it. A brief description with link to a sticky post would do. With that an opportunity to comment. The time saved could be used for improvements that are actually sought instead of the present high-handed approach.
How about changes being an opt in instead of the nuisance of finding the way out.
How about going directly from my post to a choice of editor instead only via the new editor. How about the new editor has the usual screen options so I can view wide screen, which is more suitable to my blog format. How about it doesn’t go beep boop etc.
How about an editor that doesn’t remove CR’s and is more versatile rather than try to remake my post to a template.
How about being informed that we can click on the time stamp to go directly to a post from the reader. Better still, provide an icon for that purpose.
How about being able to go from the reader (or the new stats) directly back to my dashboard. A facility which has been lost.
How about being able to switch off “Howdy, how can I help” for more than 24 hrs. Being unable to control you own system hardly inspires confidence.
How about being more professional and customer sensitive, instead of experimenting with your own conjectures.
How about realising that, if you don’t pay attention, your users will give up complaining and you will entirely lose touch with reality
If one the major hosing services realises that you have this weakness of being high-handed (nanny knows best), they will be all over you.

Hi grahaminhats, thank you for your feedback. We care a great deal about our users and a lot of thought has gone into the new features we’re launching. Also, they will change. Possibly even on some of the feedback you’ve posted here today. We pride ourselves on pushing the limits and experimenting to find the best new way forward. We’re not sitting still or maintaining older tools forever. We want to update.
Regarding the older tools, they are still there in the WP Admin section of your blog so you should be able to get to the older way of doing things if you would prefer.
I like several of your suggestions. We’ll be doing our best to collect feedback like this and gauge what we can from the amount of feedback around each issue. We will also combine looking at that kind of feedback with with looking at stats to see what people do, compared to what they say. Decisions are not made in a vacuum, and I will do my best to put your feedback forward. Thanks for caring about these updates—it shows there’s interest and passion around the features and changes going on.
