Customising post metadata

  1. Hi all,

    Does anyone know how to customise what information is shown in the post metadata?

    I use the 'neat' theme and want to remove the tags from the metadata.

    My blog address is

    Thank you!

  2. I'm assuming you have the CSS upgrade. If you do, try this:

    Locate the .postmetadata class selector and add this rule:

    display: none;

  3. Thanks. I'm trying to get rid of the categories, but not the link to comments. I think the code display:none gets rid of everything.

    Do you know how do do this?

    All the best

  4. True, I didn't realize that the comments link was there too.

    Answering your question: no, I don't think this is possible just using CSS. That would need editing the .php files which we can't here.

    I guess with the Neat theme this is not possible, but you could try the Sandbox theme, which supports entry-author, entry-category and entry-commentlink classes for the metadata. Something like this would remove the tags:

    .entry-meta .entry-category {

    As far as i can see, your design could be easily recreated using Sandbox.

  7. OK - thanks - I'll give that a go and let you know how I get on! The only reason I didn't originally start from scratch with Sandbox was lack of experience with CSS.

  8. Hello,

    Let me make sure I understand correctly.. If I use display: none; this will get rid of the comment area?

  9. well, it depends where you put that tag. If you just want the comment area to go away, it's easier to turn off comments in the post or page itself.

    Go to Dashboard->Manage->Posts/Pages->Edit (for the post/page you want to edit)->Discussion Options->Allow Comments
