Customize CSS for Fresh and Clean Theme
I have the customization bundle with wordpress for my website AnastasiaThyroff.com. I am trying to change my header color to #FAB511. When I do so using the customization bar, it still remains orange and not yellow.
Do you have any tips on how to use CSS to change the color of the header to #FAB511? I tried this:
but it didn’t work. Thanks for your help in advance!
The blog I need help with is anastasiathyroff.com.
You mean the heading “Welcome to AnastasiaThyroff.com”?
First you need to correct the coding of the page. You’ve written this:
<h2 style="text-align:center;"><span style="color:#ff7214;">Welcome to AnastasiaThyroff.com</span></h2>
If you had to do this in the Text editor, it should be:
<h2 style="text-align:center;color:#ff7214;">Welcome to AnastasiaThyroff.com</h2>
But since you have the upgrade, there’s no point adding such coding in the Text editor: you’ll do it in the CSS editor, so turn it to a plain h2 tag:
<h2>Welcome to AnastasiaThyroff.com</h2>
You also need to remove the h2 tags from around the image code.
Then: if you’re going to use h2 headings on other pages, should they all be centered and yellow, or just this one?
By the way, the photo links to a large size original when clicked: is that intentional or not?
Thank you very much for your quick response and help. I am a beginner to CSS, and have been trying to figure things out of myself, but afraid I still have a ton to learn.
For instance… how can I check was the coding of my entire page looks like? I had no idea that the default was set to orange there.
Is there anyway I can override the CSS to be yellow in the customization CSS section or will I have to figure out how to change it for the entire page? Thank you for your patience with me!
P.S. It is not intentional for the picture to get larger when it is clicked on. It doesn’t really bother me though I suppose.
a) You can see (almost all) the coding of a page if you edit the page and switch the editor to Text. You can see all the coding if you visit the actual page and select View Source.
b) The default for headings in F&C isn’t orange, it’s grey. It’s orange on your front page because you made it orange. If you didn’t directly add the code I pasted above, then you did it by preparing the page outside the WP editor. (Live Writer? Word?)
c) “Is there anyway I can override the CSS to be yellow in the customization CSS section”? Of course: that’s what CSS editing is about. But to tell you how, I need the answer to this question:
“If you’re going to use h2 headings on other pages, should they all be centered and yellow, or just this one?”
