Damsels in distress
We are 4 ladies that do and sort of new to blogging and so is our site, from looking around the forums we have learned a lot, you are all fabulous and thank you, well we all want different colours of our own for our posts and pages, we have found out how to, but when we add a picture and align it to the left it doesn’t go to the coloured background, can anyone help us out please loads of hugs and kisses for you if you can thanks Sara
The blog I need help with is prettierinpink.wordpress.com.
First, a couple of remarks on coding:
a) “span” is used for isolated words or phrases within a paragraph. For a complete paragraph you use “p” instead; for a larger section comprising more than one paragraphs, you use “div”.
b) You don’t use separate html tags for the various elements of “style”, if they are meant for the same chunk of text: you combine them in the same tag.
Now, your post should be like that:
<div style="background-color:#f7c4ee;height:160px;padding:1em;"> IMAGE_CODE_HERE <div style="font-size:x-large;color:#000000;"> TEXT_HERE </div> </div>
Note well that this is a special case, because your text is shorter than the image, so you need the height command to make the background extend up to the end of the image. For a post where the text is longer, you would simply use this:
<div style="font-size:x-large;color:#000000;background-color:#f7c4ee;padding:1em;"> IMAGE_CODE_HERE TEXT_HERE </div>
Wow thanks for your help panaghiotisadam :) Sara
