Dashboard doesn't work

    I’m having the same problem as


    at my own blog brooklynmusic.wordpress.com/ on FF 15.0.1 and Chrome 22.0.1229.79.

    Problem: I can create a new post, and edit, more or less, but when I click on post-editing buttons like Upload/Insert Media, or (over on the right) try to edit to edit the date for “Published On:”, nothing happens.
    Why are some Dashboard buttons inactive?

    The blog I need help with is brooklynmusic.wordpress.com.


    Have you tried the suggestions given by Timethief in the other thread?

    Then, went back to try again. The “Upload/Insert” button above the visual formatting buttons applies to [Media] [Polls] and [Custom Forms]. It will work if I wanted to add a custom form, but not for images, or polls.

    If I right-click on the Upload Media button, and then select “Open in a New Tab” or Open in a New Window” I can get to the promised land:


    but when I then browse to the desired image in the media library and then click on “Insert Into Post” the page goes blank, I guess because the new window isn’t really associated with the post I was editing.

    Please (not absurd) bird.


    My apologies for not returning to this thread – somehow I mislaid it! Are you still having this problem?


    Still can’t get these editing buttons to work.
    Thought of trying it on Windows 7 with a newer version IE browser, but since I do all my work on a Mac OS 10.7 iMac and use Firefox or Safari . . .
    would prefer to resolve the problem.

    Would you like the password, to log in and try it at your end?


    Please don’t give your password here (or anywhere else). I’m a volunteer, like most people who answer questions here on the forums and could not get into your account (nor should we be able to). Staff can see inside your account providing they have the correct URL (web address).

    I’m going to flag this for staff to look at, as I can’t really help any further at the moment. In the meantime, someone else might be able to think of something. (You can tell who is staff by the word beneath their username – you and I have ‘member’. If you see any that say ‘inactive’, just ignore that as it’s a bug.)
