Dashboard problem: 'likes' column (the 'star') shows all zeroes

    Hi

I have a need (at least, I think I do: I may be mistaken!) to be able to easily identify which posts have attracted ‘likes’. In Dashboard > Posts there is a column labelled with a ‘star’ symbol that is intended to enumerate the ‘likes’ each post has received, which would help in this regard. However, this number is currently showing as zero for all of the published posts on this site.

For example: this post currently has two ‘likes’; yet in the dashboard the total is showing as zero.

I note that on my main blog there doesn’t appear to be a problem with this feature. The difference between the two sites is that phlyarology.com is set as ‘private’ (while it’s under development). I accept that this might possibly be the reason (but if it is, it would be handy to have confirmation).

Any input and ideas on this very much appreciated. Thank you in advance for your time.

The blog I need help with is phlyarology.com.

I tagged this thread for Staff assistance as your blog is a private blog and we Volunteers cannot view it. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond.

@timethief thank you kindly. And, incidentally, I would be honoured if you would consider an invitation to view phlyarology.com…

Thank you so much but only Staff can view private blogs and with respect I do not wish to be added as an official user to anyone’s blog.

Understood. Floodgates, once opened, can be hard to shut :)

You’ve got it. I struggle to cope with what I’ve already got on the go.

I can confirm that the reason you aren’t seeing the Likes count on this blog is because it is private. If you choose to make the blog public, the Likes count will appear on the Posts page on your dashboard, as expected. If you have any other questions about this, please let me know!

@rachelmcr many thanks for taking the time to respond.

Blast. That does throw a bit of a spanner in the works, but it’s good to know the reason. My (somewhat threadbare at this point) thinking cap will just have to stay on a bit longer, is all…

I am checking with our team to see if this is something we can enable for private blogs, as well. I will let you know what I find out!

Hi there! I wanted to give you an update on this — our team just made a change so that your Likes count will show up even if you have a private blog. Thanks for making this suggestion! :)
