Dear Automattic,
Just curious – from where does the name of the Blask theme come? What does ‘Blask’ mean?
I remember the ‘Blaskan’ theme and wonder, are they related?

P.S. The urban dictionary says this: Blask means perfection in its greatest form.
From Google translate:
Translations of blask
noun
shine, radiance, brilliance, grandeur, glamour, glare, luster, sheen, sparkle, glitter, brightness, gleam, glory -

Blask was selected as the theme name since the designer and developer were looking for a short word that started with a B and ended with a k – and Brisk was already taken. ;) It’s a Polish word meaning “shine” or “radiance,” as timethief pointed out above. There is no relation to Blaskan.
Hope that helps satisfy your curiosity!

I am so tempted to ask why the designers were looking for a short word that started with a B and ended with a k.
But I won’t go there :-)
