default header image appears instead of custom header image
I’ve uploaded custom header images which look fine while I’m in customize, but when I visit the site I only see the default header which came with lovecraft.
The blog I need help with is bytherisingsea.wordpress.com.
I’ve checked out your page. And this is what I see:
– Home (main) page is displaying a mountain (I’m assuming this is the image you want to change)
– About page has a sunset image
– Contact page has a hand with phone
I’m sure you already know this and this is the steps that I did to get the Main Page Header Image changed:
1. Go to Theme Customize
2. Select Header Image
3. Uploaded a new image.
4. Click Publish
If those steps didn’t work, we will need to have Staff comes and take a look.
adftom – are you all set? Looks like you were able to change your custom header.
drunkentennis – thanks for helping out!
Thanks. I was trying to do rotating headers and it kept defaulting to the ‘suggested’ headers. I loaded another theme and am using a single header for now. I’m sure I’ll have more questions. Thanks to all!!!!
Tom – ah, gotcha! If you’d like to do your own rotating/randomized headers, be sure to click the button in the Customizer that says “Randomize uploaded headers” – and not the one that says “Randomize suggested headers.”
Just let me know if you need further help with this, or feel free to start a new thread if you have a new question about something else!
I am having the exact same problem with the Lovecraft theme. I have uploaded and published a custom photo, but when I visit the site I still see the suggested image.
tommappin – I’d like to have a look at your site, but I see that you have the Customizer open. If you’d like me to take a look, please save your changes in the Customizer, close it, and let me know. Thanks!
I am sorry for the delay. I have saved changes and closed the customizer. Thank you in advance.
Tom – I’ve gone ahead and saved your custom header. I’m wondering if you’ve been saving your Customizer changes as a draft, instead of publishing them? I opened the gear at the top right to choose Publish.
p.s. Buddy looks like a sweet dog!
Hi! i wonder how i can delete the function to not ”scroll over the header” I do not want that the blogpost make the header ”dissapear”
Hi, I am too am unable to change the picture on each page. It defaults to the same picture on each page, no matter what I try. What are the steps to take in Toujour theme to change the picture on each page.
fannynordstrom – I looked at your site at fnordstromse.wordpress.com but I’m not sure what you’re referring to that’s “disappearing.” Please start your own thread and explain more what you’re trying to do, and we’ll be glad to help. Go here to start a new thread:
levittw01 – Toujours displays the same header on each page — that’s how this theme is designed. If you want, you could click the Randomize button to randomize your headers.
Folks, the questions here no longer have to do with the original issue. If anyone needs further help, please start your own thread so we can better hep you. Thanks!
