Deleting hidden blogs
Hello: I have created 3 blogs, with different addresses, but I only use 1 of them; I have kept the 2 unused blogs hidden- how do I delete these unused blogs.
The blog I need help with is narayansmusings.wordpress.com.
You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard.
Clicking this link should display all your blogs registered under the same username, including the hidden ones: https://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs&show=hidden
If you do not see the blog here http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/ then
follow this guide > http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/#my-blogs-dashboard-visibility
If you have lost your log-in information you can visit https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
and if required complete the form for account recovery.
Hello: I do see my hidden blogs; I am trying to figure out how to delete them. Only option I seem to get is to delete the entire site, not just the blogs(s)
All blogs are independent sites and deleting one site has no effects on any other sites registered under the same username account.
To delete a free hosted WordPress.COM blog you must be logged in under the exact same username account that registered a blog to delete the blog. To prevent accidental or inadvertent deletion of blogs, there are multiple warnings given that blog deletion is permanent and irreversible. Lastly, a verification link is sent in an email and must be clicked to delete a blog. If clicking that link does not work then copy and paste it into your upper browser window and click.
Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made.
Alternatively, to change blog visibility to private go to > Settings > Reading scroll to Blog Visibility and choose option 3 . See the guide here http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/
IMPORTANT NOTE: Deleting blog content and deleting blogs does not remove any indexed content from the SERPs (search engine page results). Google and Bing only clear their caches of deleted indexed content that produces a 404 (page not found) every 3 – 6 months.
I have a similar case that I hope you can help me out further.
I do see my list of hidden blogs, except that for each of them, the only option available is to un-hide them. There is no option to delete them.
Can you point me to how I can do that?
Thank you so much!
There is no option to delete them.
What I posted above applies to deleting all WordPress.com blogs. Provided you are logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog you can delete it at Tools → Delete Site exactly as stated here http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/
Thanks for your initial reply.
So given that I am logged in to wordpress.com as Administrator, and that I see the hidden blog but have no options to delete, does that mean that I actually am not logged in as Administrator for those hidden blogs?
