Deleting my account
I want to delete my account, i was informed that was not an option, that i just had to leave it inactive. Never have i heard of a social blog or network that never gave you the option of deleting your account, this is insane. I created this blog on a whim and used it three times before i became to busy for it. It seems a waste of an account to just have it sitting unused. I can’t even take down the page. I guess i dont understand why this is you policy and how i can take the page down so that nothing shows.
The blog I need help with is glamitlooks.wordpress.com.
Provided you are the Admin of the blog in question and are logged in under the exact same username account that registered the blog you can delete it. NOTE that URLs are not recycled here.
Username accounts are not deleted but there are steps you can take that amount to removing all personal information and result in leaving only a throwaway email address behind.
1. You can go to My Account->Edit Profile and remove all data except the account name and an email address. Create a throwaway email address and change the account email to that throwaway address. This only leaves the username behind.
2. To unsubscribe from email sent to you from WordPress.com, go here and click on “Block all subscription emails from WordPress.com”:
3. To ensure the account is locked up tightly, visit this site, generate a password of 15-20 characters, and change the account password to it:
4. While you cannot completely delete your Gravatar profile, you can remove all of your profile information easily through the “Edit My Profile” page here:
You can also hide your Gravatar profile from external access. Visit your profile page (click your name in the top navigation of the website), then click the “Hide My Profile” link in the bottom, right-hand corner.
