Difficulties with the site

I want to add a logo from https://www.yogaallianceprofessionals.org/ireland/kilworth/yoga-teacher/lucy-weir-bingham-mcandrew to my site. This is the code.
This is my site address: http://www.yogazazen.wordpress.com. I’ve been through two tutorials, both contradictory, and got as far as ‘site settings’ in the ‘customise’ section but there’s no option for a ‘logo’, only for a ‘site icon’ which, when I try to change it, wants an image. I would really appreciate a walk through with this since I think it’s important that I have the ‘senior yoga teacher’ designation, though whether it’s my logo or not is a moot point. I don’t really understand what a logo is, but I created a footprint in the sand as my overriding image and that’s what I’ve been using and would like to continue to use, with the ‘senior yoga teacher’ circular image on the side.

    Hi there,

The best way to add this logo (and what I’ve seen others do when they want certifications on their site) is to add it to your sidebar via a text widget:

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/text-widget/

You’ll be able to add HTML code to the text widget.

Are you wanting it within the header of your site?

I don’t know how to use this piece of code. Thanks for your reply but I tried to load the code into the text widget (which is what I’d suspected I’d have to do) and nothing happens. I think I’m loading at least two instructions so the machine sees rubbish. Thanks for your help.

No problem. I am going to send an email your way. In that email you can share the code that you are adding in to the widget space. Then I will work on it for you. Where exactly do you want the widget located? At the top of the sidebar, or between 2 other widgets?

When I look at the widgets on the site I did notice that you have tag cloud on there twice. I’d suggest deleting one of those.

Thank you! I would like to have the widget at the top of the page, but at the top of the sidebar would be good. I don’t know why I have two sidebars. Bear in mind I’m muddling through this with no training and almost no time to spend on it! I really do hugely appreciate your help. I’ll share the code that was shared with me (it’s above) but it looks to me to include both a link to my Yoga Alliance Professionals page and also the badge which is the thing I want to include in the sidebar. Does that make sense? Thanks again. Lucy

I was going to say that whatever code you are using to paste in this thread is the same code you use to post in the text widget – it should work. Let me know if you still need assistance with adding it and where you want it placed (above the widget with the map?).

    Thanks,

I don’t know. I don’t understand codes. I don’t know how many codes there are here but I know I spent about three hours today trying to separate them, post this as one unit, etc, in the widgets text (even though they told me to post in logos which is just not possible without an image). Bear in mind I have no training in this and have set everything by trial and error. This is the message I got from YAP when I said I needed a walk through:
Hereare detailed instructions on adding your logo to a wordpress website. I hope this helps :)

You can use this code for the logo:

You see I can’t even post the code here without the image showing … I will try once more: < >< >< and > removed so you can see the code…

OK. At last, I’ve managed. Thanks, all, for helping me, although ultimately the whole business is complete trial and error! Hey, we all have different brains… with love and thanks to you all. Namaste!
