Digital certificate for free site
We have a domain we are redirecting to our wordpress site. It is getting certificate errors. We are using a free plan.
– Is there a way to get a certificate for a free site.
– Is there a way to get wordpress to no use https?
The blog I need help with is tviw.wordpress.com.
a domain we are redirecting to our wordpress site
WordPress.com does not accept incoming domain transfers. You can, however, map an existing domain, that you purchased elsewhere.
In order to remove the .wordpress.com URL and replace that with a domain URL you have to purchase an upgrade. See https://wordpress.com/pricing/
See: Map an existing domain (one you already own) to your WordPress.com blog – if you already have a domain that you registered and purchased elsewhere. http://support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/
What domain mapping does is providing a seamless redirect to the very same content under the new domain URL when a person clicks the old URL to the original content.
Note that each upgrade bundle applies to a single blog only and is for a single year only when it is due to be renewed.
We all pay in full for every upgrade at the time of purchase. Make sure you read the comparison very closely do you know exactly what the restrictions and limitations on WordPress.COM blogging are: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

Your only options for payment are found here http://en.support.wordpress.com/payment/
WordPress.com provides a 30-day refund on all upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers. The refund period for Domain Registrations and Renewals is 48 hours.
Note: It takes from 1 – 2 weeks for the refund to be received.
You have to be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard, cancel any upgrades, claim a refund for any qualified upgrades, and disable auto-renew. Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades. You can also disable auto-renew there. http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-upgrades/#canceling-upgrades
Thanks for your quick response.
Is there a way to turn off https on the free plan at tviw.wordpress.com? We are not really doing anything that needs the security.
