Disable follow button and wordpress bar

  1. Hi, I was wondering how would I go about disabling the bottom right follow button that appears when you're not logged in? And how to disable the top admin bar that appears when you're logged in? They're really unnecessary and I can't seem to find anything on how to get rid of them. Thanks.

The blog I need help with is gingerfizz.co.

  2. Hi there. The black admin bar cannot be removed and trying to do so can get your blog suspended. That bar is there for your convenience as it contains links to your blogs and account settings as well as your notifications. If I view your blog I see MY information there and any other logged-in user will see THEIR information. So, if you did manage to remove it from your site you'll be taking functionality away from the people viewing your site.

You can disable the follow button for logged out users under Settings ->Reading in the classic WP-admin dashboard.

  3. Oh, I didn't know! Thanks for clearing that up for me. I am a little disappointed about the admin bar, though, because I wanted to use WordPress to host a web site rather than using it to network with other blogs. I guess later on I will just have to try downloading WordPress and host it through another site instead.

    Thanks for the answer!

  5. Alright, thanks again. :)
