Disable right click

  • I would like to have right click disabled on my blog (aepoc.wordpress.com). In the information I can find, it doesn’t appear that it is possible, but that appeared to be from 2010. It’s two years later, and this option should be available. Can that happen please?

    PLEASE.

I’m a professional photographer, and I realize that it’s not a fool-proof deterrent, it does go a long way.

    Thank you.

  • There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.com blogs and we cannot install any plugins to disable right click. I believe Duotone is the only theme with this feature. I see you recognize disabling right-click is a useless exercise that creates a false sense of security as anyone can defeat it in seconds flat. You are far better served by watermarking your images. See http://en.support.wordpress.com/prevent-content-theft/

  • A friend of mine is a pro photographer and he only puts images up with not a lot of pixels in them – the joke is that thieves can make a 4 x 6 inch post card and any bigger they need to contact him

  • I do watermark.

Aux – Yeah, but they can still use them digitally, as profile photos and what-not, and it’s disrespectful to not tag or give credit at all. I realize that people suck and it’s never going to go away completely, but still.

  • I’m sorry but this isn’t possible here.
