Disabling featured content on Twenty Fourteen theme
I was just wondering if there is a way to disable the featured content ‘feature’ on the theme Twenty Fourteen. On the front page of my blog I’d like the posts I make sticky to come before the most recent ones. This works, but it also brings up the featured content thing, which I don’t think I’m a fan of. The only problem is that because I don’t have any special tag on any of my posts that would make them appear in the featured content, the posts marked sticky are used instead.
You can see what I mean if you take a look at the front page of my blog. I like the way the posts are laid out below the featured content area, if only I could get rid of that and still have it so some posts would be sticky and come before other recent content.
I suppose what I’m really asking is if there’s a way of selectively choosing what posts are on the homepage. It seems to me that I only have two choices: a static page or most recent content.
I’d like to know if there’s a way of making a tag or a category the designated ‘front page’ post maker, if you know what I mean?
I hope I’ve explained that alright…
Maybe I should mention, I have the upgraded version of the Twenty Fourteen theme, so I am able to control the CSS. I don’t know enough about coding to know if this would help me resolve my problem, but I may as well mention it.
The blog I need help with is thingsiwanttoknow.com.
You need to copy that text into a new thread for the CSS Forum as that’s where you get answer to CSS editing questions. Use this link to do that https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/css-customization#postform
