Disabling star rating for certain posts/categories?

  1. newhartarchive

I've searched everywhere (on, on Google, and here) trying to figure out if there's a way to stop the five star rating from appearing on posts within a certain category of posts. I just want the star rating to apply to one of my categories only. I'm just not sure if it's possible, or if I'm overlooking something.

    Thank you in advance!

Yes, I'm referring to that blog, I'm sorry I forgot to include the link in my first post.

I actually already have the star ratings enabled, but I was only able to find a way to enable them for ALL posts (or pages or comments) or NO posts (or pages or comments). The problem is that I just want them to appear at the bottom of posts that are included in certain categories of my choosing. I thought there might be a way to disable ratings for Category A while still allowing users to rate all posts appearing in Category B.

  6. I do understand you and I'm sorry but what the support documentation states is how the feature here at works.

Okay, thank you anyway for the help. At least now I know I'm not overlooking it. :)

  8. You're welcome and best wishes with your blog. :)

  9. You can exclude posts from displaying the rating stars: you get the Post ID numbers and type them in the Exclude field of the Ratings settings.

  10. Good thinking! Thanks so much. Bookmarked! :)
