Disappearing Photos

  1. I'm back to normal now also, thanks guys.
I couldn't imagine how much you had to do to rectify this, so thanks.

  2. I am losing my jpg's as well and I have text being underlined that wasn't underlined previously. What's going on!!!!???? HELP!!!

  3. Supposedly this issue has been fixed. Everything is working fine for me in firefox and safari.

What browser and browser version are you using?

Log out, clear your browser cache and cookies, restart your browser and then try again.

  4. Hi thesacredpath,

I am using IE 8. Cleared the cache and cookies. Logged out and restarted the browser. No luck! Can you recommend any other actions?

  5. While in the dashboard, make sure you have compatibility view turned on.

  6. Compatibility view is turned on in the dashboard but I still have the same problem. Also did a restore on a previous version from yesterday with the same bad result.

  7. It looks like IE7 and 8 still have some issues, but staff is working on it.

I suggest contacting them at .

  8. OK, thanks for your help. I have already sent in 2 trouble reports tonight. I think I'll just have to wait for them to fix this.

  9. My pictures are almost all gone from my blog. I haven't posted anything in months but I had wanted my existing posts to stay up.

What I don't understand is how this can happen - how so many jpg links can be shredded when I did nothing on my end - didn't reinstall or upgrade WordPress at all.

  10. The other thing is - if WordPress developers did all this remotely (which seems insanely Big Brother), then it's not worth my while to try and manually fix all this broken images - because these same developers will probably do something similar in the future. Just doesn't make sense.

  11. @wholesight the picture problem is yours and not WordPress.COM's. Your site is not hosted here, you are also using WordPress.ORG 2.7 which is quite old and very insecure - you are your own webmaster and thus your problem to solve.

Your site is not hosted on WordPress.COM, this site is for support of sites hosted on WordPress.COM. You should address your questions to WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using:

    For more on the difference:

  12. Thanks. I don't really understand why my WordPress logon would then give me permission to post here.

As for WordPress 2.7 being old and insecure - this makes me laugh. The way we dance around in circles now trying to keep up with the evolution of software! We are chickens in a big henhouse.

  13. But you are in the wrong henhouse.
