Displaying PDF Using Firefox

  1. Hey Everyone,

I am attempting to upload a PDF to my blog using Firefox on a Mac. I go through all the necessary Add Media, File URL, Insert Into Post, Publish steps and am able to create a link on a post that supposedly displays the document but when I click on the link, a blank white screen is displayed.

When I look at the uploaded PDF using Safari or Internet Explorer, I am able to see the PDF as it should be displayed. I have done quite a bit of searching online and through these forms and have not been able to find someone with a similar problem or resolution. Does anyone out there have an idea what might be going on/what I can do to fix it?

Here is a link to the uploaded PDF that I can't view: null

  2. Is it a large file? I have searched and found this >

Note: The following processes are outlined particularly for users who wish to upload a document and add its download link to a blog post or page. If you are seeking to simply upload a document to your blog’s Media Library (no download link), you can check out Media -> Add New in your dashboard.

If you want to embed the document itself, you will have to use a third party application like Scribd or Google Docs. Otherwise, the documents will appear as a download link.

  3. I use Firefox (10.0.2) on a Mac, and when I click on the "Pat Lawton" link in your blog post, it (slowly) loads a 21 page PDF. Firefox for Mac does not natively show PDF in the browser, you need an add-in to do that. I use PDF Viewer, there are many others. I hope that helps!

  4. Thank you for the replies! I really do appreciate them. Using Scribd I was able to get the document to upload in WordPress and using Firefox, it is now visible on my computer.

Thanks again! It is much appreciated!
