Domain expired, need renewal.

  1. My domain has unfortunately expired. What do I do to get it on again? Thanks in advance.

The blog I need help with is

  2. If you fail to renew your domain before it expires then you no longer own it. Th registrar does and there is a bried grace period after which the domain name is in Redemption and you will need to work with the Staff to secure it again and renew. There will be an additional charge that is set by the registrar and not by WordPress.COM See here > expired domain This thread has been flagged for Staff attention.

  3. Don't hold me to account on this, but if I remember, clicking on 'Settings>Domains' and there should be some settings in there.

Admittedly, I've not had to renew in a few years as I've never stuck it out with a site. But good luck!

  4. The domain "" expired on February 13. It is currently in "redemption" - this means that the domain is deactivated, but has not yet been fully released. During this time, you can still renew this domain, but the process is more complicated then a regular renewal.

If you want to get this domain back, you have several options:

    * We can renew the domain for you, through our registrar. This costs $97, which includes $17 for the domain and an additional cost of $80 for a late renewal. We have no control over this additional cost, as it is levied on us by out domain registrar.

    * Try to register the domain through a domain back-ordering service, such as Pool (Registering starts at $60 with Pool)

    * Wait until the domain is out of redemption and becomes available for registration again, and then register it again for the regular price of $17. This would run the risk of the domain being registered by someone else before you, or the domain not being released for registration at all. The exact redemption period and the release of the domain are at the discretion of our domain registrar and we can't control it.

If you want to have the best chance of getting your domain back, your best bet would be the first option - we will renew your domain for you through our registrar and it will be automatically restored to your account.

If you want us to renew the domain for you, please transfer payment through PayPal.

Go to PayPal, and transfer US$97.00 to "[email redacted]".

In the comments field, please enter payment "For renewal of domain:".

After you transfer the payment, please reply to this email and send us the transaction ID you got from PayPal. We will contact our registrar, and they will reactive your domain within a few days, if not hours.

PLEASE NOTE: Time is of the essence here. Because your domain is very close to being cancelled, it may no longer be possible to recover it. If you pay for renewal and we are unable to recover the domain, you will be fully refunded.

  5. Thanks! I just lost the domain for three days ago, so was not aware of this before. I will pay right away and hope it can be recovered!

  6. Can you please try to recover the domain right away so I don't loose it? It is very important to keep it, as I have worked very much with the domain and it function as a information site.
I will pay 97 as soon as possible.

  7. I have used Paypal to send 97 to you now. I hope you can recover the blog! All the best!

  8. After you transfer the payment, please reply to this email and send us the transaction ID you got from PayPal.

I think @macmanx needs the PayPal ID number also.

  9. I think @macmanx needs the PayPal ID number also.

Is that safe to post in a public forum?

  10. I have seen it done before - but then if @macmanx sent an email to the person then replying to the email would be better -

  11. auxclass, I didn't send any email. Bad wording on my part.

tandava108, yeah that's safe to post, but I always remove it after the fact anyway.

maritemilie, I have contacted our registrar partner and will let you know as soon as I hear back.

  12. Thanks macmanx. I have a ID number I can send if thats necessary.

  13. maritemilie, no need. I found it based on the comment you entered in the payment. I'll let you know as soon as I hear back from the registrar.

  14. I am so nervous! It is so weird, as I just lost the page for some days ago. I tried to pay for another year in february, but I guess something went wrong and I later forgot about it. I have worked on it almost every day, so I really hope it can be recovered. Cant sleep!
