Domain frustration

  • So on our website we seem to have run into a little bit of an issue. In the beginning of having our .com domain, our Alexa was updated fine with our stats everything was going perfectly. And then all of a sudden our .com just stopped updating, and now nearly all of our stats are going to our wordpress URL bazaardailynews.wordpress.com.

I’ve contacted WordPress already and they didn’t seem to do much. Why is this happening to our domain? We’ve mentioned to WordPress that we do not want our wordpress URL to have a rank, [and we know it’s possible because sites like EW.com (their wordpress URL doesn’t have a rank at all).

Is there any way to stop our WordPress url from being updated? We’re losing our .com rank because of this issue.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • This is your domain http://bazaardaily.com/ and it’s being mapped to from your underlying .wordpress.com blog at this URL bazaardailynews.wordpress.com

The reason we purchase domain mapping is so that all the URLs from the .wordpress.com root blog when clicked seamlessly redirect to the same content in the post under the new domain URLs. Yours are doing that correctly.

The pagerank and authority the blog earned was earned by the .wordpress.com URLs and belongs to that URL. It’s not transferable so what that means is the domain starts from zero. In about 4 – 6 months time the same content will all be re-indexed by search engines under the domain URLs. Then all things being equal the blog will probably have the same pagerank and authority under the domain URL it had under the .owrdpress.com sub-domain URL, prior to purchasing domain mapping. http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/register-domain/
All is normal with you domain mapping.
