I just paid $15 for a WordPress domain name and went through the steps to have it appear as my url without the worldpress.com in it, but nothing happened. Is there a lag time for this sort of thing? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

It usually takes an hour or two to propagate. If you mean doodlemeister, that’s what shows in my browser bar.

Thank you for your response, ellaella, but I still have the problem. It’s a long and complex story but I’ll be as brief as possible. In my first WordPress blog attempt I misspelled “meister” as “miester” transposing the “i” and “e.” So rather than go to GoDaddy and try to fix it, if that’s even possible, and have to go through the domain mapping process again, I decided to just deal with WP and buy another name with the correct spelling. Can you direct me to the step by step process to domain map within WordPress? I searched the forums but may have missed it. Thanks again for your patience.

I didn’t even notice it was misspelled, but you’re right of course.

Okay, the FAQ is usually the best place to start and there is a step by step:

However…I’m really, really not sure of the best and smartest way to go about fixing this. The solution I have in mind might be dumb, wrong or both. If I were you, I’d use the support tab in the upper right of the dashboard and ask for advice from support.

Thank you for another quick response, ellaella. I had found the FAQ for domain mapping and followed the steps without success. And I’ve been trying to get through the maze into support, which I’ve managed before, but this time I seem caught in a loop that gets me nowhere. But I’ll try again. And thanks again to you for trying to help. Much appreciated.
