Domain Mapping and Adsense

I’m finding it extremely difficult to find the right words for my question as I am a beginner with HTML/coding/etc. I recently just purchased domain mapping and the adfree service via wordpress.com so that I can start using Adsense. Upon trying to activate my adsense account (it says I have one more step to complete, which is to embed the code on a page on my site) I pasted the code to a few blog posts to no avail. It appears that there needs to be a plugin installed- which no such tab exists. So how do I get this to work?

The blog I need help with is madeoflovely.com.

We do have an advertising program called WordAds, which you can read more about here:

    http://wordads.co/

Advertising outside of WordAds at WordPress.com is not allowed. For full details, please see:

    http://support.wordpress.com/advertising/

    http://wordpress.com/types-of-blogs/

If you require other advertising, you might be interested in a self-hosted (WordPress.org) installation. There are no restrictions on advertising if you setup a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities. Please see this link to learn about the differences:

We have hosting recommendations at the following link if you are interested:

Ok, that makes sense. And thank you for the prompt response.

If I switch my blog from WordPress.com to WordPress.org will I lose all my past stats? Will my google search ranking be adversely affected? Will my followers be lost?
Or does the transition not affect any of those things?

No, if you install the Jetpack plugin from http://jetpack.me/ we can transfer your stats.

Will my google search ranking be adversely affected?

No, if you keep the same domain and the same Date and Name permalink structure, your ranking won’t be affected.

    Will my followers be lost?

No, if you install the Jetpack plugin from http://jetpack.me/ you can transfer your followers following this guide: http://jetpack.me/support/subscription-migration-tool/

I have another question (sorry, I am new at all of this! But I really do appreciate the help!)
I just signed up with site ground, and they are telling me that they cannot transfer my site from wordpress.com. But that is what jetpack does?
Meaning I create/download/install wordpress through them and then install jetpack, and then I should be able to transfer everything from wordpress.com?

No, Jetpack adds WordPress.com features to a WordPress.org installation. You can transfer your followers from your WordPress.com blog, but that’s it.

If you’re interested, we do offer an upgrade called Guided Transfer (available in the Store section of your blog’s Dashboard) where we take care of everything for you: http://en.support.wordpress.com/guided-transfer/

Otherwise, you can move your content following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#moving-to-wordpress-org

To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities.

WordPress.org has complete support and documentation sites for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress at:
