Domain Mapping Issue
I recently purchased the domain name thenewporker.com and I’m trying to map it to my blog thenewyoker.wordpress.com, but an error is occurring that states that thenewporker.com is already mapped to an existing blog.
I have already pointed thenewporker.com to wordpress name servers, but it just redirects to thenewporker.wordpress.com — a site which someone else owns.
If someone already owns thenewporker.wordpress.com is it still possible for me to set up thenewporker.com with wordpress?
I can use thenewyoker.wordpress.com as my main site with wordpress as long as it will appear in the browser as the newporker.com.
Kind of confusing, I know. I’m setting up this site as an online magazine and the only thing holding us back is getting this domain name situation fixed.
The blog I need help with is thenewyoker.wordpress.com.

The staff have not dropped by the forum today – they are the ones that need to help you – patience
Wow, you’re fast.
I tried rephrasing my question in hopes of bettering my chances of getting staff assistance. But you’re right; it’s probably some kind of glitch with the wordpress systems.
Thanks for the support.
I flagged your other thread for staff attention – they need to clear some old mapping records on another blog for you
