domain name change

  1. I want to replace my domain name purchased with an another new available one before its expire date. Is it possible?

The blog I need help with is

  2. The top level domain here is and all of our free hosted blogs are on sub-domains. What exactly is it that you are referring to? Changing the URL from one sub-domain URL to another? Or are you actually referring to a domain being domain mapped? If so what is the URL? Please clarify.

  3. If you want to change the blog address ie. the URL starting with http:// then you must be logged in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog to do that and the URL you desire must be available. If so then you can change the URL by using this guide

  4. In order to map to a domain one must have an underlying subdomain blog to map from. If you have registered a blog you log in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog and purchase a domain name by purchasing an annually renewable domain mapping upgrade for the blog.

See here for mapping an existing domain that you already own

Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades is where you do the primary blog set up knowing it can take between 24 - 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. You can view the DNS changes here > What's important during that stage is to be patient.

  5. Perhaps you are asking to have Staff remove domain mapping (what is the domain URL?) from one blog (what is the sub-domain URL?) to another blog (what is the sub-domain URL?).

  6. Thanks for your replies.
No, I am not using my domain name and I do not want to use either because the domain name I purchased is now out of my interest so I would like to buy a new one but before paying for the new one I would like to know if I have the right to do during my contract period of a year so that I do not need to pay extra and continue with the new domain name by freeing the previous one to market. I hope that this makes more clear.

  7. I'll tag this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

  8. You have 48 hours to cancel a custom domain name. After that it is good for one year. You can't change the custom domain name part way through with a prorated charge. changing a custom domain name after 48 hours can only be done with a completely new domain name registration and registration fee. (per the staff answer in another thread)

  9. @fazilergen, your custom domain was purchased on June 8th, 2013. As the other posters have noted, a custom domain cannot be changed, but the purchase can be canceled within the first 48 hours.

If you would like to buy a new custom domain, you can do that by going to Store → Domains from your dashboard.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.
