domain name won't unlock

    Hi,

    I am trying to transfer my domain name to BlueHost, but it won’t unlock on wordpress.com. I pressed the unlock button, but it doesn’t stick so Blue Host won’t recognize it as unlocked. Can somebody please fix this so I can transfer?

    Hi,

    It still says it is locked on Blue Host even though I unlocked it on wordpress. Is there anything else you can do? When I unlock it, it doesn’t stay unlocked.

    are you getting?

    The domain (your site) is currently locked from transfer (Status clientTransferProhibited).
    You will need to unlock the domain at Wild West Domains, Inc. before a transfer can take place.

    @marteenbesteder It does appear to be locked again. Can you let me know if you received an email (it will be sent to the address listed on the domain as the admin contact, which may or may not be the same email address as you use for your WordPress.com account).

    I’ll look into this issue further, which appears to be affecting other users as well.

    I’m having the exact same problem. Bluehost says…

    The domain wildmushroomland.com is currently locked from transfer (Status clientTransferProhibited).
    You will need to unlock the domain at Wild West Domains, Inc. before a transfer can take place.

    ….but WordPress.com says…..

    This domain is currently Unlocked.
    If you are not intending on transferring this domain to another registrar, you are advised to re-enable Domain Locking.

    And I’m stuck. Whatever fix happens, let me know, too.

    Having the same problem here. Unlocked my domain ielts-academic.com multiple times on WP.com but each time Bluehost tells me that:

    The domain ielts-academic.com is currently locked from transfer (Status clientTransferProhibited).
    You will need to unlock the domain at Wild West Domains, Inc. before a transfer can take place.

    Hoping for a speedy resolution as I have scheduled today to set up self-hosting of my site but cannot proceed beyond this stage.

    @jackiedana Yes, I still get the emails and am using the same email address, it just seems like when I unlock it the change doesn’t stick. If I unlock it, then click on another tab, and then go back, its locked again.

    Whatever was done didn’t seem to work. I’m still being told I’m locked on Bluehost and unlocked at WordPress.com, and when I refresh WordPress.com, it goes back to being locked immediately.

    I just received word that our domain registrar says that the issue with transferring a domain has been fixed. Please give it a try and let me know if it works now for you.

    It appears to have worked. Bluehost showed my domain as unlocked and I’ve initiated the transfer. Just waiting for it to go through.
