I teach a class at Georgia State University. My students set their wordpress blog up on wordpress.com, but we are working on wordpress.org. I re-set the nameserver to ns69.domaincontrol.com and ns70.domaincontrol.com (for the godaddy hosting account) as instructed in your support section. The domain has been added to the self hosting account referencing the correct folder. It is still parked by wordpress.com. Do you have any idea when it might be changed or is there something else I need to do? Thank you for your assistance.
The blog I need help with is ajustatl.org.
I can help you with that. I just need a little more info.
Is this regarding ajustatl.org ? Which specific support page are you looking at? Is godaddy the host you are looking to point ajustatl.org?
Yes, godaddy is the host I am looking to point ajustatl.org to. I thought I entered all of the nameserver information correctly, but it still isn’t redirected. Thank you for your assistance.
This is the support page I used.
Hi there –
It seems your domain is currently pointing to the following name servers:
According to the information provided by GoDaddy, you were sent an email that lists your nameservers when you set up your hosting account. Does this match with the name servers I just listed?
See http://support.godaddy.com/help/article/664/setting-nameservers-for-your-domain-names, under ‘Setting Nameservers for a Domain Name Registered Elsewhere and Hosted with Us’.
You might also want to check with GoDaddy if the name servers are the only thing they need us to change. I’ve seen some cases where additional records were needed.
Thank you for your help with this!
Actually, the domain is pointing to ns69.domaincontrol.com and ns70.domaincontrol.com – which is where it should be pointing as those are the corrrect nameservers for the hosting account.
That is what the article says at GoDaddy, that is what the tech support (that talks to you on the phone) says at GoDaddy and that should allow the domain to point to the correct wordpress installation.
I don’t know what the problem is, but I need to have this domain pointing to that location. If you could tell me what else I need to do I would appreciate it. Now you are telling me that the email isn’t correct and you want me to point the nameservers back to you. Can someone help me with this please. The email on the account is the student account – (email redacted). My email is (email redacted).
I suspect we need to know the IP address that should be used for the GoDaddy web hosting. They probably sent you the IP address in a welcome message, or you can also call them to ask them for it.
Can you find out what the IP address for your GoDaddy web hosting account is and then reply here with that information?
I also sent a copy of this message to (email redacted), if that’s a better channel for you :)
The IP address is the following:
The IP address is the following:

Hey – I just updated your domain with this IP address. The change might take a couple of hours to fully propagate across the internet, but good news is I already see your site there instead of the ‘Parked Domain’ page :)
Is there anything else I might help with? Just let me know. I’ll be happy to!
Thank you very much. I appreciate it.
